“For my daughter, when she thinks about her high school years, being a part of Peak Nordic is the first thing that comes to mind. In the Nordic ski community, she has met some of the most important people in her life. They include not just her coaches and teammates, but competitors and Peak Nordic alumni as well. She looks up to them in several aspects of life, not just skiing. For my son, Peak Nordic gives him the opportunity to meet lots of fun and nice people. Fresh air, exercise, snow, racing, and traveling are all bonuses that he truly enjoys! As a parent, I appreciate that all levels of skiers are supported with the same amount of enthusiasm. And the friendships we have made with other Peak Nordic families are wonderful.” Amy Seay
The High School program is open to all area high school students. No XC skiing experience is necessary to join.
This is a competitive cross country skiing program. The team will travel to snow for early season training and will travel throughout the state for competitions, culminating at the Wisconsin State Championships.
The season runs from November through early March. Practices are five times a week. Athletes must provide their own equipment including skate and classic skis and roller skis. Used equipment is available at the Peak Nordic Ski Swap. Coaches will be available to assist with fittings.
